Early Life in Cameroon \u2013 Lessons of Hard Work and Care<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I grew up in Cameroon, West Africa, in an environment where there was no room for failure. Raised by a single mother who worked tirelessly as a trader, I learned that education was the key to possibility and that determination could transform lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From my mother I inherited not only a strong work ethic but also my first taste of business acumen. At the same time, caring for others was woven into my upbringing. My aunt worked full time in a public hospital, served as a midwife, ran a small pharmacy, and comforted countless people. She seemed like a \u201cmini God\u201d in the eyes of her community. Watching her, and caring for my younger siblings, gave me a natural instinct for compassion and responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Dream Deferred, Then Revived in Finland<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

After high school, I applied for a nursing degree, but the competition was fierce and I wasn\u2019t admitted. Instead, I studied Business Administration at the University of Buea, one of the top English-speaking universities in Cameroon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My dream of nursing never left me. When I moved to Finland for a master\u2019s in business, I discovered a new opportunity to study nursing. This became the turning point of my career\u2014a chance to combine my business training with my true passion for care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seeing the Gaps in Care<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

As a nurse in Finland, I quickly realized that many clients wanted more consistency and dignity in their care. I still remember one patient asking if I would return the next day. When I couldn\u2019t promise, her disappointment struck me deeply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That moment inspired me to imagine a better model\u2014one where clients felt truly seen and supported by familiar caregivers. What began as a part-time idea soon grew into a business that combined my nursing skills with entrepreneurial drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Building Omegayksi Oy \u2013 From Idea to Reality<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Launching Omegayksi Oy was not easy. I wrote business plans, researched the market, and pushed past fears of the unknown. My motivation was never money, but a desire to solve a problem and bring comfort to people who deserved better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over time, the company grew. I became not just a nurse, but a business owner creating meaningful solutions in home care. This is the heart of the Cynthia Chinatou Omegayksi founder story<\/em>\u2014combining compassion with entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Balancing Family, Business, and Personal Growth<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Balancing family and business has been a challenge. Weekdays are filled with work, evenings and weekends with family life. As a mother of five, I am still learning balance. Yet I make weekends sacred family time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To recharge, I enjoy simple joys: traveling, relaxing in a hotel, pampering myself, or shopping with friends. These small indulgences fuel me to keep going.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What Motivates Me Today<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Today, my biggest motivation is the feedback from clients\u2014the gratitude, relief, and trust they place in my care. My ongoing goal is to keep exploring my potential and stretching what I can achieve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From my early years I learned three timeless lessons:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Be true to yourself and others.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Always remember\u2014the sky is wide enough for everyone to succeed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
